The Challenges of Warehouse 13
by Warehouse-13 on Jun.25, 2009, under Interviews
Last week, I was on a very lengthy conference call with the people behind Warehouse 13. Lengthy, because these guys bantered like brothers and sisters. There were so many jokes and barbs flying between Exec Producers Jack Kenny and David Simpkins and stars Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly, I don’t know how the transcriptionist kept it all straight! They were a delight to listen to and I’ll be giving you the highlights as we head toward the premiere of Warehouse 13 on July 7.
First up, producer Jack Kenny talks about the challenges of breathing life into Warehouse 13. (continue reading…)

UGO TV Blog Interviews Cast & Producers

Warehouse 13, SCI FI-soon-to-be-SyFy’s latest original offering, takes the old television paradigm – the skeptical, straight shooting female cop/government agent/investigator paired with the unorthodox, rule-bending rougish male cop/goverment agent/investigator, and places them in a very interesting predicament – reassignment to a place known as “Warehouse 13,” housing a cornucopia of oddities and artifacts that defy conventional science, and described by its caretaker, Artie, as “America’s attic.” Canadian actress Joanne Kelly, whose imdb profile reveals stints on Supernatural, Castle and something called Mafia Doctor stars as Myka Bering, the aforemention skeptical, straight shooting female Secret Service agent. Eddie McClintock, whose television resume includes Bones, Moonlight amd Desperate Housewives plays Pete Lattimer, the jovial Jack to Myka’s stoic Jill. The pair, along with executive producers Jack Kenny and David Simkins, got on the horn recently to take some questions on the show’s creation, cow manure and comparisons to another male/female duo on a certain sci-fi show of long ago… (continue reading…)
IESB Interviews Eddie McClintock
by Warehouse-13 on Jun.22, 2009, under Interviews
Written by Christina Radish
IESB: How did you get interested in acting? Was it something you always knew you wanted to do, or did something lead to it?
Eddie: I grew up in Ohio. My dad was a wrestler and a football player. He played football in college. He was a huge sports fan. So, I grew up as a jock. I wrestled for 12 years. I wrestled in college. I played football for 8 years. I never even thought of actually doing a play or being in the theater department, or anything like that. But, my dad and I would go to the movies all the time. That was really our favorite thing to do, as father and son, other than my sports. We just went to movies, and I would always come home and act out the parts in the movie. I’d do all the voices, and entertain my family. And, I loved Saturday Night Live and used to do all those great characters. (continue reading…)

Imagine some wide-eyed Northerners, given a fresh playground.
That’s what you have with “Warehouse 13,” the offbeat new cable series. It’s a fun place for two Secret Service agents – and for the actors who play them.
There’s the by-the-book Myka (Joanne Kelly) and the free-form Pete (Eddie McClintock). They’re re-assigned to a South Dakota warehouse that contains everything from Pandora’s box to Hitler’s microphone; a caretaker (Saul Rubinek) tries to control the artifacts while the agents face crisis. Classic Inspiration
by Warehouse-13 on Jun.19, 2009, under News
The main characters in SCI FI’s upcoming Warehouse 13 are FBI agents guarding supernatural artifacts, but their inspirations have more to do with classic romantic comedy stars such as Cary Grant, Myrna Loy and Katharine Hepburn, the series’ executive producers said.
Warehouse 13 pairs the reluctant agents Pete Lattimer and Myka Bening and assigns them to track down and retrieve ancient and powerful artifacts scattered across the globe before they fall into the wrong hands. (continue reading…)
CinemaSpy Interview with Cast & Producers
by Warehouse-13 on Jun.18, 2009, under Interviews
CinemaSpy recently chatted with [Joanne] Kelly and [Eddie] McClintock, as well as executive producer and writer David Simkins and executive producer and showrunner Jack Kenny, about the new series.
Question: What were some of the initial writing and/or production challenges getting Warehouse 13 off the ground?
Jack Kenny: Any new series involves similar challenges. Where are we going to go? Are we going to arc out the first season or is each episode going to be individual? We’re learning about these characters and these people.
One of the things we did was we brought Saul and Jo and Eddie into the writers’ room and we all sat together and we had a session. And we talked about the characters and let them talk about the characters, we talked about them personally, what do they like, what do they do, what are their hobbies, do any of them speak languages or play instruments. You know, what are their relationships with family members and things so that we could sort of mine who they were as individuals. (continue reading…)
Pink Raygun Interview with Cast & Crew

via PinkRaygun
The Warehouse 13 conference call was the most lively call of this nature that I’ve been on. Stars Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly and producers David Simkins and Jack Kenney are so genuinely excited about the show and all have such great rapport that it was hard not to be infected by it. Read the transcript after the jump.
Coordinator: The first question comes from Steve Eramo, TV Zone Magazine.
Steve Eramo: Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to speak with us today. My first question is actually for Eddie and Joanne and I was wondering maybe if you could tell us a little bit about the audition process for your roles and maybe what first attracted you to the project. (continue reading…)
